Human
Development, Management, and Services
Overview
Economists predict by the year 2000 America's largest growing career pathway
will be human development, management, and service careers. More and more
services will be demanded by citizens. Services will be in demand for many
areas to provide for human needs. Citizens will want more teacher, pre-school,
nursery, and child care programs. People will be more involved in leisure
programs, such as sports, summer recreation, church and scouting.
The pathway of human development,
management and service careers must train personnel to manage and operate
these cluster services. How exciting it is to help people help themselves.
Social agencies, educational facilities and religious institutes are much
in need of trained counselors, case workers, sociologists, psychologists
and volunteers.
The need for global services
is also increasing. Organizations such as the Red Cross, UNESCO, Peace
Corp, March of Dimes and United Way continue to need an educated workforce.
Environmental issues such as pollution, acid rain and endangered species
will require the help of trained individuals to continue.
If you are people and cause-oriented,
