Overview
Nowhere has technology
had more far-reaching impact than in the pathway of health services careers.
Nor is there a pathway that offers more variety of entry level and high
level professional careers--and hundreds of career choices in between.
Major hospitals today are huge
cities with amenities ranging from janitorial services, shipping and receiving,
food services, building maintenance, communications, data collection and
computer technology. Areas in need of skilled employees include laboratory,
therapy, pharmaceutical and research. Many professionals are needed to
back up the medical specialists--dietitians, research scientists, medical
doctors, psychologists and psychiatrists.
All the skills you learn in
this pathway will help you and your family live better, healthier and
longer lives. It is an occupation pathway that will always be in demand.
