Southeast
Texas Region
Tech-Prep is a partnership
formed among secondary schools, area business/industry/labor, community
leaders, parents, students and post secondary institutions. The primary
goal is to ensure that students leave high school with the knowledge,
skills and attitudes they need to participate in a high skills, high wage
economy and to participate fully as productive members of their commumunities.
Our
Mission
The Tech-Prep Texas Southeast Texas Region is committed to student learning
and success in the workplace. By providing high quality, efficiently delivered
Tech-Prep programs for all consortium area students, teachers, administrators
and business representatives, we are committed to developing individuals
who can contribute to society economically, culturally and socially.
Tech
Prep Curriculum
Tech-Prep is an alternative to traditional academic preparation for post
secondary study. However, it does not limit the opportunities for students
who want to pursue advanced degrees. Many of the courses in the Tech Prep
programs are basic requirements for any good academic program. Students
are encouraged to work closely with their counselors to choose courses
that are transferable and to make accurate decisions while saving time.
